It’s a love hate relationship.

The good thing is how fast and easy it is to use. If you have a stompbox tuner you will always have to find a cable to plug into your guitar before you tune. The SN5X hooks on you headstock and is fast and easy and gets your guitar pitch perfect. The pitch detection on this device is impressive. It automatically detects the string and the interface is easy to read and understand. If you are always using a guitar tuner online this would be a good alternative. You will be happy with its simplicity and ease of use. This turner is a evlution for the old guitar tuners. Three things you need to think about when buying the SN5X is the price is nice but it really not built to last. You have to be careful and not work the 360 head to hard. It is plastic and should be treated as such. If your are using a guitar tuner app the device would be on your guitar and your wouldn’t have to fiddle with your phone. It’s fast and quick and doesn't take away your time from playing. This is a great tuner for beginners. It’s Inexpensive and has a big bright display. It cuts your tuning time in half.

The Snark SN5X has a great display and tunes fast and accurate, but the plastic construction and the design can be easily broken. Snark has really made a good name for themselves when it comes to clip on tuners, but this tuners has some mixed reviews. When you attach the SN5X to your headstock you can utilize the 360 swivel head to get a good view of the amazing display, but the swivel head can easily be broken. The tuner uses a CR2 coin battery that comes ready to go.

I would say this is a good little tuner. It is very affordable little tuner compact and easy to use. This is almost a disposable tuner. You know like a plastic bowl you buy at Walmart. It’s great for two are three months. Then you just throw it away. I have had the tuner for about a week and it works great. So It is really just up to your if you want a cheap solution that works great but does not last long.

The Functionality

The Snark SN5X is a great little tuner with an inexpensive price. It has a nice design and functionality but the materials are cheaper than I would like. This tuner operates by sensing vibrations from the notes that you play while attached to the headstock of your instrument. When you are in a loud environment and need to tune up quickly this is a nice little tool to have in your case. One of the best things about this tuner is it’s amazing display visible in any type of light on a dark stage or playing in the middle of a park. Great Price. Cheap Plastic.
