Snark ST-8 Super Tight Clip On Tuner

I was trying a negative review... not sure I like..This is the ST 8 tuner which is not an upgrade. It works great for a day or two. Then it will break. The plastic tabs holding the ball joint are so weak that if you tap on it they will snap right off. This tuner is messed up and will break as soon as you use it.

POOR DESIGN !?!

The ST 8 uses a low quality plastic and it breaks easily, rendering the tuner useless. If you turn the device to see when tuning it just breaks off! In the instruction booklet that comes with the tuner it specifies NOT FOR USE ON ANY GIBSON GUITAR! The company that makes the tuner knows that the rubber pad on this device scratches the finish on nice guitars.

Good Idea Bad design Cheap plastic.

I see why people like it. It’s easy to use and operate while it works. The tuning is not a tight as other products. This thing will not tune an E string on a bass. This tuner is finicky! When tuning it thinks the strumming different strings. I would recommend using the KLIQ UberTuner.

Hz Tuning Doesn’t WORK!

Why do I have to follow a specific string sequence for six guitars and 5 string bass guitars? There is no constant Hz readout! Are these items defective? The Hertz turning is the reason most people buy it and it’s a total gimmick. Yes the display is bright but the battery lasts one week. I would recommend the Boss TU10BK.

Waste of Money.

Not a good Christmas gift. Works great for a week. Then the issues kick in. This tuner randomly decides what string you are playing. I don’t like that I am bummed about this tuner. Yes it is Inexpensive. I spent more on crazy glue to fix it than the tuner.  I would recommend TC Electronic PolyTune Clip.

WHY DID I BUY THIS?

The  prong breaks on every one of them. The Snark has made great products for years and now this? This tuner is inaccurate. A tuner that doesn’t tune is completely useless. It turns on but doesn’t work. It won’t read anything. Buy this and you will eat 10 bucks and be irritated about it. 

Doesn’t Actually Work!

It’s just not a quality item. It’s a non-returnable dud. The clamp mount is poorly designed. This tuner has internal problems. It completely failed. Sometimes it shows a C and instead of an E. WONKY! You can not rely on this Tuner.

Dud or What?

Tuning with this thing seems to find the general idea of what in tune is. But not intune. So tuning with this thing will drive you crazy. You think...awe maybe I just got a bad one.. But no. It sucks every time. Customer service on this product is lacking as well. I love the look of this tuner, but it is just a no go.
